  • What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, cosmetic tattooing, or dermapigmentation, is a cosmetic procedure that uses a needle to deposit pigment into the skin's dermal layer to create designs that look like makeup
  • Is Permanent Makeup similar to Tattooing?
Yes, permanent makeup and tattoos are both types of body art that involve using needles to deposit pigment into the skin. However, there are some key differences between the two: Purpose Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique that enhances the appearance of the eyebrows, lips, and eyes, while tattoos are intended for artistic expression or symbolism. Depth Permanent makeup is deposited just below the epidermis, the first layer of the skin, while tattoos are deposited deeper in the subcutaneous level. Equipment Permanent makeup is performed with a pen-like instrument or standard tattoo gun, while tattoos require more intricate equipment like a tattoo machine and tattoo ink caps. Pigments Permanent makeup pigments are designed to fade slowly over time, while tattoos use ink. Healing process Permanent makeup and tattoos also differ in their healing processes.
  • Is Permanent Makeup a safe procedure?
At Ann's Browology, the procedures are performed under sterile conditions, using only disposable needle cartridges and with digitally controlled implantation device. There are no long-term side effects; short-term effects may include some redness, swelling, and tenderness. There are no known allergic reactions to pigments.
  • Is there any discomfort associated with the procedure?
Unlike in body tattooing or some other type of permanent makeup salons Ann's Browology uses topical anesthetics that are highly effective to be applied to the treated area which significantly reduces discomfort. Typically, clients will report a tickling sensation with little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed. Please be aware when booking a Lips Blushing procedure, if you have ever had an outbreak of fever blisters at any point, you must consult with your doctor prior to your procedure.
  • How long does the procedure take to complete?
The average time required for each procedure is as follows: Nano Hairstroke Brows: 2 to 2.5 hours Ombre Powder Brows: 1.5 to 2 hours Eyeliner Tattoo: 2 hours Lip Blushing: 3 to 4 hours
  • What kind of healing time is involved? Is any care required after the procedure?
Some swelling and redness can be expected for up to 24 hours following a procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The treated area must be kept clean. No makeup should be applied for several days. Some skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow-up appointment. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning or swimming should be avoided for a few days. Normal healing times is between 7 to 10 days. Aftercare instructions for each procedure will be provided following the treatment.
  • How long does Permanent Makeup last?
Permanent makeup can last between 1 to 3 years, but it usually fades gradually over time and may require touch-ups. Some says that even after the pigment fades, some particles may remain in the skin indefinitely, there is no guarantee that it will ever completely disappear.
  • What factors affect how long Permanent Makeup lasts?
Many factors can affect how long permanent makeup lasts, including: Skin type: Oily skin may fade faster than dry skin because it has a faster rate of skin cell turnover and higher moisture production. Sun exposure: Sun exposure can fade the color of the pigment. Lifestyle: Factors like sweating, exercise habits, and facials can affect how long permanent makeup lasts. Age: A person's age can affect how long permanent makeup lasts. Pigments: The color of the ink used and the amount of pigment deposited at the dermal level can affect how long permanent makeup lasts. Aftercare: How well you take care of the permanent makeup after the procedure can affect how long it lasts. This includes how often you exfoliate and whether you get touch-up treatments. Some recommend getting a color refresher every 12–18 months. Other factors: The quality of the pigment used and medications can also affect how long permanent makeup lasts.

  • What is the aftercare for fine-line tattoos?
The first few days and weeks (for a new tattoo) are probably the most important for your new tattoo. Make sure you care for it properly. Below is the healing procedure and do’s and don’ts we recommend. Because everyone is different, this may not always be the best recommendation for each person. We recommend you follow the advice of your tattoo artist or seek the advice of a doctor first. 1. Leave the bandage that you received after the tattoo on for 2 days. Tattoos will ooze, this is a normal part of the healing process. The bandage is there to keep airborne bacteria and any other contaminants in the environment from invading your wound. 2. Make sure your hands have been washed thoroughly before you remove the bandage. 3. After removing the bandage, cleanse the tattooed area with soap and water. Do not scrub the tattoo with a brush or towel (this should not be done until the tattoo has healed). The idea behind the washing is to eliminate any dead cells have been allowed to accumulate on the surface. 4. Dry the tattooed area by gently patting the area with a clean, sterile towel. 5. Let the tattoo dry completely (approximately 10 minutes) 6. Lightly rub on hand ointment such as Aquaphor. 7. You do not need to re-bandage 8. Repeat steps above for three-four days, approximately six times a day. The idea behind this part of the process is to not let the tattoo dry out. After a few days you may notice some peeling and possibly a little scabbing. Excessive scabbing can indicate a poorly done tattoo, but some scabbing may be normal. It is at this point in the healing process that our tattoo will begin to itch. RESIST THE URGE TO SATISFY YOUR DESIRE TO SCRATCH, RUB, OR PICK at the tattoo. Remember -- the first few days and weeks (for a new tattoo) are probably the most important for your new tattoo. Make sure you care for it properly. Consult a physician if you experience symptoms such as excessive swelling, redness, yellow or green discharge, fever. Some final DO’s and DON’Ts DO NOT: 1. Go swimming or soak in a hot tub or bath 2. Use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on your tattoo 3. Itch, pick, or scratch the tattoo 4. Participate in activities that will make you sweat DO: 1. Stay out of the sun until your tattoo has healed completely. 2. Apply sun block to tattoo after it has healed whenever it is exposed to the sun to protect it from damaging ultraviolet rays.
